Frankie Weiss and Her Magic

Chapter Eleven: 75 Years of Family Pets

The only picture my sister had was of Topaz; this photograph shown below however does not do this beautiful Himalayan feline justice. She indeed was queenly to behold her blue eyes were truly hypnotic and her demeanor was one of royalty.

While these pictures do not show Jesse and Topaz in the best of the photographer’s skill, I think they are important in this reconstruction of years past, in that they are part of a beloved feline family that brought so much joy and beauty into the lives of their human companions.

As part of your family, with the ease of the digital camera, it would be a worth while exercise in recording your pets; pictured memories of loving pets are precious.

My nephew Marty, his children, and his parents have across the years loved and cherished a number of dogs and cats. Unfortunately, photographs of all the animals do not exist. Some of those that do will be shown on these pages, while other family pets may just bear descriptive material.

About four years ago, more or less, Marty lost Oliver , his loving and protective black Labrador . Big dogs do not have the life spans of their smaller brethren. Oliver lived to age 14, and became racked with painful arthritis. He could hardly walk. It was a terrible day in the life of Marty and Petie (his wife) when they had no choice but for Oliver go through the process of euthanasia. I’m not sure, but I seem to think they have his ashes in an urn. After growing up with the entire Weiss family for all these years, I’m more than positive Oliver holds a special place in the hearts of each family member.
