The following incomprehensible episode took place after
Steven
graduated from
Union
College
in
Kentucky
and moved back into the Goodman Home. Living in the family home after four years on his own was not to his liking, he moved into a Condo. But, after living alone and coming home to an empty Condo, he realized he needed a cat, a feline in his life. Enter
Jesse
,
Jesse
was adopted from the SPCA and had strange genes; he grew into a twenty pound cat. Could his size been a throwback to something in his genes, an inheritance from millions of years of evolution? Nature in its workings will play tricks upon siblings; one could grow up to be a genius, while another could be less than smart. It makes me wonder if
Jesse
had any siblings who grew to his size.
One day, in his kitchen,
Steven
slipped on the floor, breaking his right ankle in three places. Reaching a phone,
Steven
called for help. It would be a very bad break. After surgery and a stay at a rehabilitation center, he then moved into his mother’s Condo, using a rented hospital bed for the six months it took him to recuperate.
Jesse
had to be given away to a friend in his mother’s Condo complex.
Steven
after two months and on crutches went to visit
Jesse
. Entering the Condo, he called to
Jesse
; the cat that had loved him for a number of years totally ignored him.
Jesse
had turned his affection to the lady that fed him. Crushed,
Steven
went back to his Condo. A cat he loved and that had loved him in return, after a period of not seeing him for about three months, changed allegiance. Loyalty was not for
Jesse
the 20-lb cat.
